In his address, Collins praised the conference’s theme, Strategic Agility in a Digital Age, highlighting its relevance in today’s ever-changing economic landscape. “Resilience and adaptability are not just competitive advantages; they are necessities for survival,” he remarked. “At Elis, we embrace this reality, continuously innovating to meet the needs of our customers while upholding our commitments to social and environmental sustainability.”

Collins also noted the importance of social sustainability in the hospitality industry, emphasising Elis’ dedication to reducing environmental impact through its circular business model. This commitment was recently reinforced by the launch of plastic-free deliveries from Elis’ Little Island plant, marking a significant milestone in the company’s sustainability journey.

“But sustainability goes beyond environmental responsibility—it is also about people,” Collins added. “Social sustainability is at the heart of our CSR commitments, ensuring businesses create fair, inclusive, and ethical workplaces. We were pleased to see ‘Shaping Brighter Futures’ on today’s agenda, aligning closely with our own mission.”

Elis continues to invest in digital transformation, harnessing data, automation, and smart textile technologies to enhance service quality while optimising resource use and monitoring Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

Strategic agility, Collins concluded, means being prepared for tomorrow, today. “At Elis, we are committed to leading with responsibility, resilience, and innovation. By partnering with the Irish hospitality sector, we can shape a future where businesses thrive without compromising the world we leave behind.”

Elis Ireland would also like to extend its warmest congratulations to Ciara Flaherty of the Castlecourt Hotel, Westport, on being named Employee of the Year. Her dedication and excellence serve as an inspiration to the entire industry.
